You can add multiple files at once
Add multiple PDF files, drag to reorder them, then merge into one. LovelyPDF merges PDFs at the document structure level using pdf-lib — no re-rendering. Fonts, images, vector graphics, and text layers are preserved exactly.
Your files never leave your browser. Processing happens entirely in your device's memory.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
No server-side limit. You can add as many files as your browser and device memory can handle.
Will merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?
No. Pages are merged at document structure level without re-rendering. Fonts, images, and text layers are preserved exactly.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first using the Remove Password tool, then merge.
Can I merge PDFs of different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its original dimensions when merged.

merged-document.pdf.Everything stays on your device. PDF merging happens entirely in your browser using pdf-lib — no file is uploaded to any server at any point. Sensitive documents such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, bank statements, and offer letters are combined in local memory and discarded when you close the tab.
You don't need to register or log in to use this tool. There are no daily limits, no per-merge fees, and no watermarks added to the output. The complete merge capability is freely available to every visitor without any account.
LovelyPDF works on mobile phones, tablets, and desktops alike. The drag-to-reorder list works on touch screens, making it easy to combine documents on your phone before submitting to a government portal or attaching to a job application.
There is no hard limit on the number of files. You can merge as many PDFs as your browser and device memory can accommodate. In practice, merging 20–30 average-sized documents works smoothly on most phones and laptops. If you are combining a very large number of files or very large files, the process may take longer but the progress bar will update as each file is added to the merged document.
No. Each page retains its original dimensions when merged. A landscape A4 page from one file and a portrait A4 page from another both appear at their respective sizes in the output. The merge operation copies pages at the document structure level without re-rendering, so text, images, vector graphics, embedded fonts, and hyperlinks are preserved exactly as in each source PDF.
Yes. pdf-lib handles a wide range of PDF versions and structures. Files created in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, scanner apps, Google Docs, or other PDF editors can all be merged together. If a file fails to load, it is most likely password-protected — remove the password first using the Remove Password tool, then add it back to the merge list.
Bookmarks (table of contents entries) from the original files are not automatically carried into the merged document. Page content and structure are preserved exactly, but the outline is not reconstructed across the combined file. If you need an outline in the merged result, you can add bookmarks manually in a PDF editor after merging. This is a known limitation of browser-based structure-level merging.
