How to Delete, Reorder, and Duplicate PDF Pages

The Page Manager gives you four operations on any PDF: delete pages you don't need, drag thumbnails to reorder them, duplicate any page, and insert blank separator pages. Every operation is previewed visually — you see real thumbnails of each page rather than numbered slots. pdf-lib processes everything in your browser with no upload required.

  1. Upload your PDF — thumbnails for every page load automatically
  2. Drag thumbnails to reorder pages, or click the up/down arrows
  3. Click the trash icon on any thumbnail to mark it for deletion
  4. Use Duplicate to copy a page and Insert Blank to add a separator
  5. Click Save PDF to download the reorganised document
Page Manager vs Split PDF — Which to Use

Use Split PDF when you want to extract a subset of pages into a separate file — for example, extracting pages 5–12 from a 40-page report to share just that section. Use Page Manager when you want to work on the whole document: change page order, remove scattered blank pages, or insert a blank signature page before page 3.

They're complementary — split first to isolate sections, then use Page Manager to arrange them, then Merge PDF to combine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I undo a deletion before I download?
Yes. No changes are written until you click Save PDF. Click the restore icon on a deleted thumbnail to bring it back, or reload the page to start over with the original file.

Can I reorder pages in a scanned document?
Yes. The tool works on any PDF — scanned image PDFs and native text PDFs alike. Thumbnails are rendered from the actual page content so you can visually confirm each page before moving it.

Is there a limit on number of pages or file size?
No hard limit. Very large documents (100+ pages or 50MB+) will take longer to load thumbnails. Processing happens on your device, so speed depends on your browser and available memory.

Can I use this to assemble a document bundle for a court or tribunal filing?
Yes. Merge all documents first using Merge PDF, then use Page Manager to fix order, add blank divider pages, and remove accidental duplicates.

How to Delete, Reorder, and Duplicate PDF Pages

  1. Upload your PDF — thumbnail previews of every page load automatically so you can see the actual content of each page rather than numbered slots.
  2. Drag thumbnails to reorder pages, or click the up/down arrows to move a page one position at a time. Changes are reflected immediately in the visual layout.
  3. Click the trash icon on any thumbnail to mark it for deletion. Use Duplicate to copy a page or Insert Blank to add a white separator page between sections.
  4. Click Download Reordered PDF — the final PDF contains only the pages you kept, in the order you arranged them.

Why use LovelyPDF

All page operations are performed by pdf-lib running locally in your browser — your document is never uploaded to any server. The thumbnail previews render using PDF.js, also in-browser. Whether you are reorganising a legal submission, removing a blank page from a government form, or reordering a multi-section report, the entire process is private and offline.

No account is required and there is no page limit. Manage a two-page form or a 500-page bound volume with the same tool, with no sign-up, no watermark on the output, and no cap on how many times you use it per day.

The drag-and-drop interface works on touchscreens and desktop mice equally. Rearrange pages on your tablet with your finger, or use precise click-and-drag on a laptop. The thumbnail grid adapts to any screen width so you can see all pages clearly regardless of device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I delete multiple pages at once? +

Click the trash icon on each page you want to remove — all marked pages are queued for deletion immediately. All marked pages are removed together when you click Download. There is no confirmation step per page — mark all the pages you want to remove, review the remaining set, then download once you are satisfied.

Can I extract specific pages as a separate PDF? +

To extract specific pages, mark all other pages for deletion and download — the output will contain only the pages you kept. For more flexible extraction — splitting by range, by every N pages, or by bookmarks — use the Split PDF tool, which is designed specifically for those workflows.

Is there a file size or page count limit? +

No enforced limit. The tool processes everything in your browser's memory. Very large PDFs (200+ pages with embedded images) may take a minute or two to load thumbnails depending on your device's memory and CPU speed. Once loaded, all operations — reorder, delete, duplicate — run immediately without any additional delay.

What happens if I accidentally delete the wrong page? +

Deleted pages are removed from the output PDF only — the original file on your device is unchanged. If you delete the wrong page before downloading, re-upload the original to start fresh. The page manager does not modify your source file at any point; only the downloaded output reflects your changes.
